Design Systems Bootcamp, Part Two

Surprise. It took more than 4 weeks. Who knew life got busy towards the end of the year?

If you’re just joining us, I was chatting previously about a Design Systems course I took with Memorisely. The second half of the course passed by in a flash, and thinking back on it now, it was an extremely formative experience for me. I feel more passionate than ever about integrating flexible and scalable design systems and dream longingly of the day that I can work on an enterprise level system.

Just the idea of getting usage data thrills me (I must be in deep.)

By the end, we were covering an expansion of component properties and how best to document them, alongside animation and prototyping within the limits of Figma and how to best hand off that information to a developer. (Though personally, for more hi-fidelity pieces that are going live, I’d probably use ProtoPie to make the prototype rather than Figma. But for the DS, it’ll do.)

Some examples of the outcomes

Final, final thoughts

The connections I made, the things I learned, the passion I gained were well worth the time and cost of this course. Not to mention, how approachable the content is.

Is it just a small taste of the DS universe? Sure.

But now I’m hungry for more, so let’s see where it can take me.
